AVIATA

Autonomous Vehicle Infinite Air Time Apparatus (AVIATA) is an Uncrewed Aerial Systems at UCLA (UAS@UCLA) research project grant funded by the NASA ARMD University Student Research Challenge (USRC) focusing on the development of a dynamic, connected, and interchangeable swarm of drones.

Addressing NASA ARMD's Strategic Thrust 6: Assured Autonomy for Aviation Transformation, AVIATA creates a system that is capable of carrying payloads in the air indefinitely by swapping out individual battery-depleted drones on a central frame autonomously while in-flight.
